Cape Coral

Live your best life in this coastal paradise

Welcome to Cape Coral

Perched on Florida’s immaculate Gulf Coast, Cape Coral is a vibrant and close-knit community. With more than 400 miles of canals, boating, fishing, and watering spots, Cape Coral offers plenty to do for its nearly 190,000 residents. Nature preserves, beaches, and vast waterfronts make this area spectacularly scenic.

Cape Coral was founded in 1957 when two real estate developers purchased a 100-square-mile piece of land with some partners. The land was then known as Redfish Point. After creating miles upon miles of canals, the area became known as Cape Coral.

Palm tree-lined streets and blue waterways weave their way through this beautifully designed community. The architectural styles of homes are primarily Spanish-style, Contemporary, and Mediterranean.

People & Lifestyle

Although a relatively new town, Cape Coral has become one of the most sought-after places to call home in Southwest Florida. Sunshine, close access to the water, and unbeatable weather are just some of the factors that draw people here. Added perks include the family-friendly environment and relaxed atmosphere.

Although Cape Coral is a city, it has a small-town feel that appeals to retirees and families. Outdoor enthusiasts, as well as individuals who crave a more peaceful lifestyle, also make up part of the city’s demographics.

Dining, Shopping, & Entertainment

Cape Coral is filled with loads of exciting choices when it comes to dining, shopping, and entertainment. Enjoy a night out with friends at Point 57. This chic restaurant specializes in American fare, along with cocktails and wine. Get your fix of cheesy, tasty pizza at Nice Guys Pizza and Beer Lounge. This hole-in-the-wall pizza shop is popular among locals. If you’re feeling adventurous, test your knowledge at the weekly trivia night!

If there’s one thing that Cape Coral knows, it’s how to prepare quality seafood. Lobster Lady is an informal bistro with raw bar selections and a variety of seafood dishes. Stop by for happy hour daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 10 p.m. to midnight. Slate’s is a casual restaurant featuring a Cajun-style menu, cocktails, and Sunday brunch.

For a memorable evening out, check out downtown Cape Coral. Although it covers only a few blocks, the downtown area has shops, grocery stores, museums, coffee shops, eateries, and bars.

Things to Do

Start your morning at the Cape Coral Farmers Market. Patronize local artisans by grabbing some homemade goods or perhaps some fresh produce to whip up your own tasty meals at home. Soak up the sun with your family at Sun Splash Family Waterpark. This 14-acre amusement park has waterslides, a lazy river, and a kid’s play area.

Commune with nature at the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve. Spread over 365 acres, this area is comprised of a marshland and river system. You can explore the preserve by walking its extensive nature trail or kayaking on the Caloosahatchee River.

Don’t forget to check out the Cape Coral Yacht Club! Afterward, head over to Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill for food and live music. Spend a Sunday afternoon strolling through the Harbour View Gallery. This unique art gallery showcases the work of local artists, as well as an artist of the month. Purchase a piece of art to elevate the aesthetic of your home or office. By doing so, you support a local artist and give back to your community, a win-win!
