If you live here, this is the quarter to lock in your table at the new rooms and cash a few off-season checks at the established ones. After Labor Day, the math changes.
The new independents, grouped by where you already are
Six kitchens opened in the first half of the year that are worth putting in the rotation before snowbirds return. They cluster in two corridors most residents drive weekly.
Tamiami Trail North and Neapolitan Way
- Heyday Cookshop at 4691 Tamiami Trail N. in Neapolitan Way, launched in April by chef Kayla Pfeifer, who is also co-owner of Bicyclette Cookshop and a James Beard Emerging Chef semifinalist and Food Network Chopped Champion. This is her second Naples concept, which is the single most useful fact about it. Second concepts from serious chefs are where the local operating knowledge shows up.

- Ambrosi & Sons, relocated from East Naples to the Shoppes at Vanderbilt in North Naples. Same operators, different address, worth a revisit if you had written off the drive.
Downtown and Fifth Avenue South
- Ce Soir in Bayfront, Annie's Bistro in the new Olde Naples Hotel, Tiny Kitchen Empanadas on Park Street, and All Too Well Gourmet Sandwiches and Barrio Taqueria along Fifth Avenue South.
That is six new independent doors across a four mile stretch, most of them under a year old. The reason to sit down at them now rather than in January is straightforward. Independents adjust their pacing, sourcing, and reservation cadence based on the first snowbird weekend. If you become a familiar face in July, you are a known name in November.
Three names heading to Waterside Shops
The story of fall 2026 in North Naples is the Waterside outparcel. Three concepts are aimed at that center, each with a different draw.

Rebrands worth a second look
A handful of familiar doors have new kitchens behind them. These are not menu refreshes.
- Under the same owner, Zen Asian BBQ in North Naples was transformed into Papa Joe's Trattoria.
- At Marquesa Plaza in the Naples area, Señor Tequila's is now Tequilas Mexican Bar & Grill under new ownership.
- Ownership has changed at Bha! Bha! Persian Bistro in Naples and Islas Restaurant in North Naples, without name changes.
These are not new-menu-same-place changes. Different kitchens, different sourcing, different service styles at the same doors. If a rebrand happens to be a room you already had in rotation, it is worth a second visit before assuming it is the same restaurant.
Where the summer pricing actually lives
This is the piece most residents underuse.
Restaurants that stay open through the off-season are pricing for people who live here. That pricing goes away the week high season starts. The cleanest example on the board right now: Chops City Grill is running 25% off entrees and steaks through summer. That is a downtown steakhouse discount that does not exist at any other point on the calendar, and the pattern extends across the downtown steak and seafood tier if you look.
Use it as a nudge toward a room at the top of the price band you would not normally book at full price. The check you write in August is not the check you would write in February for the same seat.

- Collier County residents' free zoo day, the first Saturday of every month at the Naples Zoo, when Collier County residents receive free admission all day.
If you have friends visiting in October or November, this is also the moment to think two months ahead. Book them into Waterside Shops now for whichever of the three new arrivals is open by then.
A resident's three-move plan for the next four weeks

- Pick one new independent on Tamiami Trail North and one downtown independent. Heyday or Claypot on the north corridor, and Annie's, Tiny Kitchen, or Ce Soir downtown, before Labor Day. The independent openings tend to lock in their reservation cadence after the first snowbird weekend.
- Use a summer special at a room you would not normally book at full price. The 25% at Chops is the clearest example, but the broader pattern applies across the downtown steakhouse and seafood tier.
- Put one August event on the calendar that is not dinner. Rock the Block at Mercato on the 20th, an Evening on Fifth stroll, or a Saturday at the Third Street South market. The calendar is the part of Naples life that thins out most in the visitor version of the story and stays richest in the resident one.
